I just finished a book!!! *loud joyous sirens and stuff* I haven’t really been reading but I am working really hard to drive myself to do things I enjoy so I got some new books. To preface anything else I only read romance or psychological thrillers. Yeah…idk either but it’s the only two genres that entertain me sooooo. ANYWAYS, I finished Cross The Line by Simone Soltani this morning and I’m gonna give it a really solid ⅘ stars. *applause* (Y'all I wish I could put sound effects on websites). Anyways, this book was really good. It’s an F1 romance which is already a wonderful combo for me because I love F1 and romance! The main characters Willow and Dev are really relatable and very interesting to watch. I love how in depth they are and that you get the dual-pov of both their vibes. I also love the combo of tropes in this book. You hit F1 romance and brothers best friend and slow burn and lowkey off-limits, it’s a really good mash of some wonderful tropes. I was really impressed by the wonderful balance of the romance being the main plot point but also having other plots going on that make it more realistic. It also gives more reason to understand and love the characters. I will say, I think the ending felt a tiny bit rushed. It’s a long book for a typical romcom - a little over 400 pages - but I really appreciated that because the author gives a lot of details and really shapes the characters. It felt like near the 370 page mark the story was wrapped up very nicely. But then there’s another 20-ish pages with ANOTHER event happening and it kind of adds another last minute plot point that just ends up feeling kind of rushed and not very detailed. That was a tad annoying just because I think if you're going to write such a detailed, character driven book, you can’t reach the end and throw in something else, you really have to follow through. I would’ve loved either that plot point being taken out all together or just going all in and adding another 60 pages to make it seem as flushed out as the rest of the book. BUT, that being my only gripe, I actually really loved this book. PEAK GIGGILY BLUSHY KICKING YOUR FEET ROMCOM READ! I was definitely visibly grinning at multiple moments in this book which makes me super happy because I really was interested in rooting for Willow and Dev. Solid ⅘ stars from me and props to the author for having such a cutie cover.

Also for anyone curious I am a die hard Ferrari fan. My favorite driver is Lewis Hmailton. Yes I am miserable this season. Yes I cringe at the mention of Ferrari at the moment. No, I am not going to change teams. Yes, I am aware everyone is laughing at us. That’s all.
